Altalune Poodles

Passion for Poodles.

Altalune Poodles began as a childhood dream 25 years ago. I knew one day I would breed and show standard poodles. After years as a pet groomer, I welcomed my first show dog, Onyx, from my friend Tara Delp of Foresthill Kennels. Since 2019, I’ve dedicated myself to researching, showing, and breeding standard poodles. Thank you Tara for believing and giving me a great start.

Mentorship & Expertise.

None of this would be possible without my mentors, Peggy McDill of Espree Poodles and Carol Dean of De La Passion Poodles, whose guidance and friendship gave me a strong foundation. At Altalune, I focus on preserving the breed by raising healthy, even-tempered, intelligent, and beautiful poodles. As Peggy says, “The Poodle must be pretty!” Altalune, meaning “Over the Moon” in Latin, perfectly reflects how I feel about this remarkable breed and the many years ahead with them by my side. Our Founder Emily.

I am a mom of two, hobby gardener, owner of a pet grooming salon in Laurel MD, and poodle handler and breeder. We live in Queen Anne’s County MD, where we enjoy living in the country on a few acres, which is perfect for all our dogs to run and play. I typically show my dogs in MD, VA and PA, although I do like to travel a few times a year to other states to show with friends! If I’m not at a dog show, I’m grooming at my salon, in my garden, or in my backyard playing with the kids and dogs. We also have a bulldog named Sandy Cheeks, who completes our perfect pack!
